By far, the most popular attractions found at most any amusement park are roller coasters. Kennywood is home to a unique collection of six adult-sized roller coasters: three historic wooden coasters, and three modern steel coasters. Giant mutant rats have invaded the Kennyville Power Company in sewers, air vents, and electrical rooms! On this indoor spinning wild-mouse roller coaster, riders experience sharp turns, sudden drops, spinning, and complete darkness. This ride first appeared in 1999, constructed by Reverchon. As riders experience the underground journey, they must beware of their enemies- the exterminators. After all, riders are the rats as the coaster cars take the shape of the terrifying mutant creatures.

Jack Rabbit |

Kennywood's oldest surviving roller coaster was constructed by John Miller in 1920. The ride is most famous for Miller's innovative use of upstop wheels on the ride's deep camel-back (double dip) feature mid-ride. This ride is perfect for children beginning their coaster experience and remains perfect for riders of all ages. This ride reaches heights of 70 feet and nearly 45mph.

Phantom's Revenge |

The Phantom's Revenge towers over Kennywood as its most dominant ride. Reaching drops of nearly 235 feet at speeds approaching 90mph, Phantom's Revenge is one of the fastest and most thrilling roller coasters in the entire world. Banked turns and plenty of airtime ensure that riders will be smiling from start to finish of this legendary ride, which first appeared as the Steel Phantom in 1991 before transitioning to Phantom's Revenge in 2001, courtesy of Morgan Engineering.

Pittsburg* Plunge |

Riders and bystanders alike will be soaked on this Shoot-the-Chutes attraction. Riders are lifted up high into Lost Kennywood before experiencing a 50-foot drop into the water below. This centerpiece ride first appeared in 1995. The ride is spelled without the "h" in Pittsburgh in a nod to a turn-of-the-century variation of this ride when Pittsburgh was spelled without the "h".

Racer |

Another John Miller ride, the Racer opened in 1927. Two coaster trains race side by side throughout the entire ride, combining thrills with friendly competition. The ride is unique in that it is the only surviving möbius loop coaster in the United States- that is, if you start on the left, you end up on the right, and vice versa. Be sure to ride more that once to experience all of the ride's sensations! Riders will experience drop heights approaching 50 feet and speeds of 40mph.

Raging Rapids |

In 1985, Intiman brought the Raging Rapids to Kennywood. Up to six riders at a time board rafts that travel through this course designed to resemble a wild white-water river. Riders will experience sudden rapids and turns, water geysers, and several other surprises to cool riders off on a hot summer day.

Sky Rocket |

Kennywood's newest roller coaster debuted in 2010, manufactured by Premier Rides. This launched roller coaster utilizes magnets (LSM technology) to launch riders from 0-50mph in less than three seconds, up vertically 95ft in the air. Three pulse-pounding inversions await riders in this ride, which is sure to get your adrenaline rushing.

Thunderbolt |

The "King of the Coasters", as dubbed by a 1974 New York Times Article, remains a timeless classic of Americana days gone by. Originally constructed as the Pippin in 1924 by John Miller, Andy Vettel, Sr. remodeled the ride into the much more thrilling Thunderbolt in 1968. Featuring sharp turns and deep drops at speeds up to 55mph, the Thunderbolt will be sure to remind riders of the wooden coasters of the good Ole' days.
