Dunlop Jimi Hendrix crybaby
Modeled after the 1967 Dunlop crybaby and enhanced with more top-end and bass frequencies. The top third of pedal produces very crystalline, high gain frequencies, great for solos. The lower two third can be a bit muddy, but really shines on clean settings. A great pedal to capture the Hendrix vibe. Price range of about 120-100 dollars. |
Boss DS-1 Distortion
The Boss DS-1 Distortion provides a much harder distortion effect for a highly overdriven, warm, natural tone. This pedal is also great for boosting high decibal frequencies (82hz-330hz) when run after another high gain distortion pedal. Overall, this is a really great pedal with a lot to offer. Price range of about 60-90 dollars. |
Electro Harmonix Big Muff
The original distortion pedal. Used by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Santana. Known for its creamy, violin-like sustain. Very good low-end for rhythm, and a massive high-end gain sound for solo work. One of the best distortion pedals on the market. Price range of about 75-150 dollars.
