Self-portrait

This pencil on paper drawing was my first art project this year in Advanced Art. I had never tried a realism piece this large before or at all for that matter. So this whole piece was a very new experience and challenge.

Gate

This painting is of a large fictional/medieval style gate. I mainly used this to practice drawing terrain and architecture. The goal of this painting was to try and draw these buildings and terrain but make them look and feel massive in scale. It would be like you were about to enter a large and powerful empire but these were only the first set of gates.

Snowy Mountain

The purpose behind this painting was mainly a terrain study. This was one of my early attempts at drawing large terrain and mountains that are very distant in the image. This was also one of my first times using a new brush style where the brush was angled and very rough, which I think worked out well for the mountains.

Throne Room

This throne room sketch was a perspective practice. This was probably my first ever drawing while using perspective and focal points. This particular sketch uses two focal points on the horizon.
