In the late 1800's, a wealthy man, Robert Forrest lived where the Lemoyne Center is present today. Forrest decided to open up his house to the less fortunate people of his communityto feed them. Mistankingly, but became a good thing, Forrest started a community center for Washington. In 2004, the center was destroyed by a fire. The center was rebuilt again and ran by Joyce D. Ellis. Joyce Ellis is a very religous woman and her program is based on love, fun, and God. The center is open to everyone, but mostly people in need of food, basketball, and expecially children. |
