The history of gaming consoles
Ralph Henry Baer was born in Germany on March 8th, 1922. Before he moved to America, he had to face antisemitism in his young life. He was forced out of school, so Ralph continued his studies at home. Baer had a multitude of options in front of him.He went to the American Television Institute of Technology in Chicago to graduate as a radio service technician. He then went to the military for three years and was assigned to military intelligence.
In 1951, he proposed to a television company that if they add gmes to their TVs as to sway from their competitors and have a unique and fun twist to there buissnise. This was rejected, but fifteen years later, he decided he was going to try talking to them about the TV games again. When his supervisors finally allows him to try to make his TV games in 1967. With Ralph and his colleagues they created the first of several attempts to make a gaming consoule wich are called TV Game Unit #1. A Few years later they developed the protottype called the "Brown Box". Then in 1972 Sanders liced the Brown box as the Magnavox Odyssey.
